Privacy Policy for Get Media Info
Get Media Info does not sell your data. We don't store your media — only metadata you choose to view.
Get Media Info reads technical metadata from media files in your iOS Photos library — things like codec, resolution, duration, and bit rate. All processing happens on your device. We have no backend servers and we never see your media files. This policy explains what the app does with your data — in plain language.
1. Data We Collect
Apple requires us to disclose every category of data the app (and any third-party code in it) can access. For Get Media Info:
- Media metadata — The app reads technical metadata (codec, resolution, duration, bit rate, etc.) from media files you select in your Photos library. Metadata is read on-device only. It is never transmitted off your device, copied to our servers, or shared with any third party.
- Diagnostics — Get Media Info does not include any third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. When you have Share iPhone Analytics (and Share with App Developers) enabled in iOS Settings, Apple may share aggregate crash and performance trends with us through App Store Connect via MetricKit. We do not see individual user behavior or custom events.
We do not collect your name, email, location, or any personally identifiable information.
We never see your content. Your media files stay on your device and in your Photos library. We have no backend servers that receive or process your data.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide app functionality: reading and displaying technical metadata from the media files you select.
- To fix bugs and improve performance using Apple's first-party diagnostics (MetricKit and App Store Connect crash and performance reporting). We do not use custom behavioral or feature-level analytics.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell it to third parties. Ever.
3. Data Storage
Get Media Info does not have its own data storage outside your device. All media files remain in the iOS Photos app — nothing is copied or uploaded. App preferences and settings are stored locally on your device.
Get Media Info does not sync any data to iCloud. We do not operate backend servers that touch your user content.
4. Photo Library Access
Get Media Info requests access to your iOS Photos library so it can read media metadata. It never copies or uploads your video or photo files — files stay in your Photos library.
You control the level of access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos and can change it at any time.
5. Third-Party Services
Get Media Info uses only Apple-native frameworks. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs are included.

6. Your Rights & Controls
Access: All your media files live in the iOS Photos app. You can view, export, or delete them at any time using Photos.
Analytics and diagnostics: To stop sending diagnostic data to Apple (and thus to us in aggregate via App Store Connect), turn off Share iPhone Analytics under Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. This is a system-wide setting.
Deletion: You can delete the app at any time to remove all local data. Your media files remain in Photos and can be deleted there. We hold no copies of your data.
Security: iOS Data Protection secures data at rest. No network requests are made with your media or metadata.
GDPR (EU): If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because we do not collect or store personal data on our systems, there is generally nothing for us to access or delete on your behalf. CCPA (California): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. We do not collect or sell personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
Get Media Info is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed as a utility and is intended for general audiences in compliance with COPPA.
8. Data Security
Your media files are protected by iOS Data Protection on your device and by Apple's storage encryption in the Photos app. Because we do not collect or transmit your data, there is no transmission or storage on our systems that could be breached. No network requests are made with your media or metadata.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or the law. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through App Store release notes.
