Terms of Service for Split Video: Precise Cuts

Last Updated: May 7, 2026

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Split Video ("the App"), you ("User" or "you") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or by updating this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Relationship with Apple

Split Video is developed and maintained by MeetPi ("Developer"). Your license to use the App is granted solely by the Developer, not by Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation or liability with respect to the App, including maintenance, support, product claims, or legal compliance. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

3. What Split Video Does

Split Video is a utility that splits a video into multiple clips at user-defined cut points and saves the resulting clips to your iOS Photos library. It is provided primarily as a Share Sheet extension and can also be used from the host app's in-app library.

The App processes video entirely on your device. It does not upload, copy to our servers, or transmit your videos to any third party. By default, the App uses passthrough export (no re-encoding) to preserve the original quality of your footage.

4. License and Usage

Your License

The Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules.

You may:

5. Your Content

Ownership

The videos you split and the clips you produce remain entirely yours. The Developer does not claim any rights to your content and never receives or stores it.

Your Responsibility

By using the App, you represent and warrant that:

6. Photo Library Access

Permissions

Split Video requests read and add access to your iOS Photos library so it can read the source video you select and save the resulting clips back to Photos. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.

Source Deletion

The App offers an optional feature to delete the original source video after a successful split. This action is initiated by you and confirmed by the iOS system. The Developer is not responsible for any data loss resulting from your use of this feature.

No Video Copying

The App never copies, uploads, or transmits your video files off your device. It may write a temporary working copy of the source video to its sandbox during a session; this temporary file is removed when the session ends.

7. Maintenance and Support

The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any support services with respect to Split Video. For support, contact: [email protected]

8. Warranty Disclaimer

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE DEVELOPER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of Liability

You are responsible for backing up your videos before splitting them and for confirming export results before deleting source files.

10. Product Claims

The Developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including but not limited to: (a) product liability claims; (b) claims that the App fails to conform to applicable legal or regulatory requirements; and (c) claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.

11. Intellectual Property

If a third party claims the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, the Developer — not Apple — will be responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.

12. Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

13. Termination

The Developer may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if legal requirements compel us to do so. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Your videos and clips remain in your Photos library and are your responsibility to manage.

14. Changes to the App

The Developer may update, modify, or discontinue Split Video at any time. The Developer is not liable if features are removed, the App is discontinued, or updates affect compatibility with older devices or iOS versions.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. If a dispute arises:

  1. Contact the Developer first at [email protected]
  2. The parties will attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith
  3. Unresolved disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or courts located in California

16. Privacy

Your use of Split Video is governed by the Developer's Privacy Policy, located at https://meetpi.dev/split-video/privacy.
